Crimson placed his hand in Tanithâs, giving a firm yet friendly handshake. âI usually go by Crimson.â He replied, beaming up at her. Now he was sure heâd seen her around. âThat explains it. I spend more of my free time in La Noscea than anywhere else, so Iâve probably seen you once or twice. I think itâs all of the new people who seem to be coming in and out that gives me so much energy.â His eyes seemed to light up, his ears perked and his tail flicked excitedly as he talked about La Noscea, he almost forgot to put his gil away. It was clear the Miqoâte was one for conversation as soon as the potential was sparked.
âOr perhaps itâs the potential of travelling the open seas. Sometimes you crave to travel the old fashioned ways, yâknow?â He was calming down a bit, his tail now more relaxed. âWhat brings you here, then? Donât take that the wrong way, UlâDah is the last place Iâd be coming on my leisure time, Iâd just done a few jobs for the Immortal Flames.â
Tanith nodded in greeting as she shook his hand; a contemplative smile played on her lips as he continued to speak, long past his introduction. She eyed his animated body language with a curious fascination, knowing most Miqoâte sheâd known and worked with were of a quiet sort, ready to make their escape back to solitude as soon as the opportunity arose. Still, it struck her as somewhat endearing, at least on today of days, when even the fact the sun bothered to rise rubbed her the wrong way.
âSâan an usual name for one of your clan, aye?â She interjected, offhandedly; eyes fluttering at her own careless comment, she attempted to reel the conversation back. âNone that itâs mine to bother a man concerninâ what he calls himself.â
She crossed her arms, rocking back on her heels once or twice considering her travels between Thanalan and La Noscea as he talked so favorably of the latter - her ventures having become more of a slog, as of late. Ah, but gold was gold.
âLa Noscea calls, but this sâone Sea Wolf youâll not find on the sea, mark me. The urge hasnât struck me in decades...er, pirates and all.â She chuckled, tacking on a manufactured excuse, knowing well and full she didnât look one to mind a cross sailor.
Cocking an eyebrow, she followed it with a knowing sneer, as her eyes traveled up the sun baked walls of the city around them. The liveliness of this Twelveâs forsaken oven mystified her every time she passed through the gates - chatter, childrenâs laughter, all coexisting peacefully under a merciless sun that threatened to roast them alive in a sea of sand. Needless to say, she wasnât a fan of the idea of spending pleasure time in Ulâdah, either.
âAh, youâll find me here just the same, âFlames have errands, âFlames have gold. Easy way to occupy your time, and make a bit on the side, hm?â Her hand traveled again to the purse at her side, patting it affectionately to produce a small jingle of the coin inside.
